'... a screwball comedy with an edge, Jack Potter, a crusty, private investigator who has been there, done it all and is ready to retire. Jack runs into Marty Mackenzie , a down-on-his-luck actor who is unemployed and looking for a fast buck. Marty is intrigued with the notion that being a private eye might be an exciting career change and he convinces Jack to hire him. Against his better judgment, Jack sends Marty, armed with ninja gear and a can of tear gas, on a simple assignment in Beaver Ridge, a small backwoods town in Oregon. It's a simple case: spy on a beautiful blonde for a jealous client. When Jack doesn't hear from his zealous assistant, he heads up the coast to check things out. What he finds is a creepy town full of strange people, where nothing is as it seems.' - publisher
