Fraternity was created by Spanish authors Juan Díaz Canales (writer) and José-Luis Munuera (artist), and published by French publisher Dargaud in 2014. Though both authors are Spanish, their main target audience for Fraternity was the French market and thus they publish Fraternity in French first, the Spanish edition usually follows.
Summary, etc.:
"New Fraternity, Indiana, 1863. An experimental utopia shelters itself from the Civil War that rages across the young nation. Built on the twin ideals of equality and individuality, this simple colony finds itself on the brink of failure, waking old demons both literal and metaphorical. The discovery of a feral child living in the woods gives rise to legendary fears of a devil sent to punish the town for its sinful ways. But could it be that their punishment will come unknowingly by their own hands? A haunting tale of hubris and humanity..."-- Provided by publisher.
