"Culver, Indiana is located south of South Bend and north of Indianapolis. It is home to Indiana's second largest natural lake. The area was home to Pottawattomie and Miami Indians. Lake Maxinkuckee has been an attraction to visitors for well over a century, especially prominent families from Indianapolis. At one time, the lake had a thriving ice industry. Culver is also home to the esteemed Culver Academies. High school students from around the world attend the school. Nearby Culver Community High School holds the honor of being the first integrated high school in the state., if not the country. Culver is home to a summer lake festival, triathlon and a special serenade under a full moon. It also is a community with heart that shares through programs like the Gift of Warmth and Blessings in a Backpack. And if you're looking for history, it has ties to the Titanic, Pearl Harbor and several Hoosier authors. The Black Horse Troop has escorted kings, queens, presidents and other dignitaries while the Culver Pipes & Drums are known throughout the world. It's a town of 1,200 year round residents. Culver, Indiana offers something for all."
