Written circa 1952, Walter's sketch is a nine page typewritten article that relates the early history of Olive Township and the establishment of Wakarusa. The article mentions early settlers, local businesses and town physicians, and also relates "the one outstanding tragical event of the Town", a fire that occurred on October 29, 1899 and burned down the south east corner of the town.
