Pleasant Wheeldon was born on July 4, 1835 in Indiana, to Cornelius and Cynthia Weldon. He lived in Johnson County, Indiana with his family in 1850. Wheeldon enlisted as a private in Company B, 75th Indiaan Regiment on July 17, 1862 during the U.S. Civil War. He married Lydia A. Wheeldon in Decatur County, Indiana August 31, 1865.
