Biographical or Historical Data:	The White Water Valley Turnpike Company operated a turnpike between the towns of Brookville to Fairfield in Franklin County, Indiana. The corporation was created after the Brookville and Fairfield Turnpike Company was purchased by Clement R. Cory and Henry H. Remy on September 10, 1867. Cory, Remy, and William W. Butler were the initial stockholders. The turnpike was purchased by the Franklin County Commissioners and made a free travel road in December, 1896. Source: Information within collection."Fairfield."
