Summary, etc.:
For The Golden Age of Children's Book Illustration, author Richard Dalby has written biographies of more than fifty of the artists whose talents helped to create the Golden Age. He includes not only the great names, but also less well known but equally talented artists such as Anne Anderson, Margaret Tarrant, Harry Clarke, and L. Leslie Brooke. There are more than 150 illustrations--both colour plates and black-and-white drawings--which have been reproduced with painstaking fidelity to the originals. Chosen to be representative of the artists' work, the selection covers the whole spectrum of subject matter and style, and makes an evocative and appealing collection of the classic works of children's book illustration.
Subject: Illustrated children's books.
