|Biographical or Historical Data:||
Josephine Bicket was a native of Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. She married Andrew B. Bicket and together they had one daughter. Josephine attended Arsenal Technical High School, the University of Alabama, and enrolled in extension courses at Purdue and Indiana Universities. She was a member of the Marion County Council from 1954-1961, being the first woman to serve as its president. She worked in the Indiana Office of Civil Defense, the personnel office for the State Department of Natural Resources, and then in 1965 she moved to the position of Circulation and Promotion Manager for Outdoor Indiana magazine.
