Eliza A. Hardy letter 1863/02/12

Summary: This collection contains a letter written by Eliza A. Hardy to her cousin on February 12, 1863. She mentions letters she received from her brothers, Morris and Sol, and from Dave Morton and Libe (?) who were all serving in Company A, 16th Regiment Indiana Volunteer Infantry. She relates some of what the soldiers were experiencing while traveling "down the river", mentions Arkansas Post, and that she is talking of "going as a nurse to Memphis."

Biographical or Historical Data:
Eliza Ann Hardy was born on October 13, 1843 in Madison County, Indiana to Neal and Elizabeth Hardy. She was a nurse at Memphis during the Civil War. She married John R.
