Biographical or Historical Data:
Betty Anne Barnard Montoye was born on April 25, 1922 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Paul and Florence Castleman Barnard. She had two sisters, her twin Mary and younger sister Alice. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Indiana and taught in Indianapolis Public Schools for two years. Betty married Henry Montoye in Marion County, Indiana on June 10, 1944 and they had three children Richard, Allen, and Marilyn. She enjoyed needlepoint, flower arranging, and collecting vintage postcards. She was a lifelong genealogist and was passionate about Indiana history. Betty died on January 2, 2014 in Okemos, Michigan.
