Summary, etc.: With his mother dead from scarlet fever, Victor Frankenstein leaves his family in Geneva and goes to the university of Ingolstadt to study natural science. He becomes obsessed with the idea of unlocking the secret of life itself. Frankenstein's dark experiments lead to success, but he is so horrified by his creation that he rejects it and flees. There follows a tragic and destructive chain of events that will lead him to regret the day he decided to play god.
