This is the template that Mooresville, Indiana resident Paul Hadley created in 1916 of his winning entry in a statewide contest (sponsored by the Daughters of the American Revolution, or D.A.R.) to design a state banner for Indiana, as part of the Indiana centennial celebration. The Indiana General Assembly officially adopted this design as the Indiana State Banner in 1917.
