Topics include the Hubble Space Telescope, satellites and space probes, the solar system, eclipses of the sun, distances and movement of the stars, our galaxy, quasars, the expanding universe and life in the universe. The final 75 pages include a glossary, numerous star maps, and practical information about observing the sky and choosing a telescope. Sir Patrick Moore has written more than 60 books and hosts the BBC-TV series The Sky at Night . He received a knighthood in 2001 for his services to astronomy.
