|Biographical or Historical Data:||
Samuel Woodfill was born in Bryantsburg, Indiana on January 6, 1883. He was a veteran of the Philippine-American War, World War I, and World War II. He is also one of the most celebrated and decorated American soldiers. Woodhill received the Medal of Honor, the Croix de Guerre with palm leaves, the Meriot di Guerra, and the Cross of Prince Danilo. Samuel Woodhill died August 10, 1951. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
