|Biographical or Historical Data:|| The Knights of the Golden Circle was a secret society of men opposed to the Lincoln Administration. They supported the Confederate States of America, and believed in the legality of two separate countries. The leaders were tried for treason in Indianapolis in 1864 and found guilty.
