|General Note:|| At head of title: Department of commerce. Bureau of the census, Wm. J. Harris, director.
This report is based upon a special census of the inmates of almshouses in the year 1910. The results of that census have already been published in a series of statistical tables appearing as Bulletin 120 of the publication of this Bureau. This report reproduces these tables and in addition contains a discussion of the statistics, with tables presenting ratios and percentages. cf. "Letter of transmittal," p. 6.
Prepared under the direction of Dr. Joseph A. Hill, expert special agent, assisted by Mr. Lewis Meriam and Dr. E.A. Goldenweiser.
