This collection consists of two certificates, the first stating dated November 12, 1894, that Robert Glidewell was a suitable person for Surveyor of Putnam County, dated September 6, 1828. The second certificate, dated November 12, 1894, is for Francis M. Glidewell, for the Office of Sheriff, for a term of two years.

Robert Glidewell was born on October 15, 1762. He died on August 18, 1839. Francis Glidewell was born May 23, 1844. Francis served during the Civil War in the 1st Regiment, Indiana Heavy Artillery. He died on December 4, 1911.
