Summary, etc.: This collection includes a membership card for Estella Baker for the year 1894, and a diploma for Ruby Widener dated 1901. The other papers are minutes of meetings of the Board of Directors and reports by the manager. There are several lists of children's books and their publishers, with grade levels noted.

Biographical or Historical Data: The Young People's Reading Circle offered certificates to Indiana students who completed the course of reading prescibed by the Board of Directors. In 1915, the manager was J. H. Stahl, located at 615 Lemcke Building, Indianapolis. Mr. Stahl itemized expenses for sending out books to the schools. He listed the paid publishers and the number of books sold by title. The Board of Directors of the Teachers and Young People's Reading Circle kept minutes of their meetings and recorded net profits from 1911 through 1915.
