|Summary, etc.:|| The collection contains photocopies of letters that center on the formation of the Mount Pleasant Baptist church in Decatur Township, Indiana. Included in the letters are the transfers of church membership, agreements for the construction of church buildings, reports and greetings, member lists, and a religious poem.
|Biographical or Historical Data:|| The Mount Pleasant Baptist Church was founded on January 1, 1863 in Marion County, Indiana. There were thirteen founding members and two elders elected to the church that day. The church is still active and holding services in Indianapolis.
