General Note: This is a copy on microfilm of a manuscript copy of Dickey's diary, which details his career as a minister and educator in eastern Kentucky. In it, he comments on the Methodisc churhc in jackson and other towns, on the people and families of the area, and on the feuds and the floods in that part of Kentucky. He also comments on national and internaitonal events, such as the Spanish-American Way and the Near East Relief Expecition of the 1920's. Included at the beginning are the fron pages of the JACKSON TIMES of April 5, 1934, which contains a picture and the obituary of Broehter Dickey,and this autobiographical sketch, which covers his life up to November 1882, whe he began keeping the diare. the manuscript copy of Dickey's diary was made by Sam E. Hager.
