Summary, etc.:
The Kingdom Within explores the world of yoga in America, set among a Christian context. In recent decades, America has seen an overwhelming embrace of Eastern spirituality-largely due to the hippie movement of the 1960's. Despite the First Amendment, this country was primarily founded by Christians, with Christian values. Due to this high-octane impact of these two cultures, there has been either a newfound love or a resistant rejection from their intermingling. And there are very detailed reasons for both results. The film explores many layers of inquiry behind yoga's presence in America. Several people from a variety of backgrounds chime in on this initial topic. With eighteen different viewpoints, The Kingdom Within reminds us that any issue is never black and white. Hopefully with in the spectrum of grays, we can come to a greater understanding about these two ancient philosophies in our contemporary society.
