Johnny Nelson is now married and the foreman of the SV ranch. He and a four man crew had just delivered a small herd to the Question-Mark and were spending the night in Mesquite, Texas, before heading home. When Johnny responds to a message that his men are in trouble at a saloon, he is knocked over the head and robbed. They got the payment for the herd over eleven hundred dollars in cash. That was bad enough, but they also took his guns his pets, specially shaped to fit his grip and nobody gets away with that. So he sends his crew back to the SV, but he stays in Mesquite to get the money and his guns back.
