Unfortunately, it seems that every animal that Pete and Sam consider has some sort of drawback that won't let him take them home. The cat for example, is adorable, but his mom is allergic to cats, and the horse, while awesome, simply is far too big to comfortably fit into the house. And absolutely everyone loves dolphins, but it requires simply far too much water to keep in the house. Pre-readers will enjoy listening to the adventure. Young readers eight and under will love this book for, not only the brilliant pictures contained within, but for the format of the book, which makes it a relatively easy read for any children that would prefer to read independently.
