Twelve-year-old Charlie is adjusting to life with a new step-father when her Uncle Will buys the house and enlists her help in cleaning it. Fourteen-year-old, orphaned Sophia has recently come to live with Uncle Will's family and is afraid her new family will discover her secret - she "knows things" before they happen. Though their relationship is rocky, both girls are fearful about what's going on at the mansion, and the suspense and tension between them and in the house builds to a chilling climax.
