When Conrad Birdie is drafted, the nation's teenagers go haywire and Albert, a songwriter and Rosie, his girlfriend, decide to capitalize on the event. Albert will write a song, "One Last Kiss" which Birdie will sing on national TV to a pretty teenager. When Birdie arrives in the small mid-western town to rehearse his number, he meets Kim, the lucky teenager, precipitating a series of romantic complications.
