Biographical or Historical Data: Roscoe Ryan Leak was born in Lizton, Indiana on September 18, 1884, to James Hilary [Hillary] and Margaret Catherine (Leach) Leak. He had one sister Dena [Denie] S. Leak was graduated from Central Normal College at Danville, Indiana in 1906. He worked as a farmer but was a noted authority in the early history of Hendricks County, Indiana and was the local representative to the Indiana Historical Society from Hendricks County. Leak had several articles published in the Indiana Magazine of History. Leak was a member of the Knights of Pythias, the Republican Party, and the Disciples of Christ Church where he served as an elder for many years. Leak married Minnie Candace Noe on Sept. 25, 1909 in Hendricks County and had one son, J. Robert, and two daughters, Margaret and Amanda.
