Summary: Dinner at eight: A Park Avenue snob gives a dinner party for a visiting English peer. Little does she realize that her shipping magnate husband is bankrupt and that her daughter is having an affair with an older man.
Libeled lady: New York's Evening Star is sued by Connie Allensbury for $5 million for libel with claims that she is a home wrecker. The editor of the newspaper concocts a plan to catch Connie with a married man in order for the suit to be dropped. The editor may need a plan B when his personal life get tangled into this devious plot.
China seas: Rugged Captain Alan Gaskell sails the perilous waters between Hong Kong and Singapore with a secret cargo: a fortune in British gold. That's not the only risky cargo he carries. Both his fiery mistress and his refined fiance ǎre aboard.
Wife vs. secretary: Linda Stanhope isn't jealous of beautiful Whitey Wilson, secretary to her magazine publisher husband Van, until his mother plants the seed of doubt.
