This is the biography of Commodore Oliver Perry. As a boy he was fascinated by the sea and sailing ships. As a man Perry rose to the rank of Commodore in the U.S. Navy. His many exploits finally led to his defeat of the British Navy on Lake Erie during the War of 1812.
