"Forty Kirkland's snakes, Clonophis kirklandii, were captured from a vacant lot of Indianapolis in June and July of 1986. All were taken from under debris that was scattered throughout the lot. Of the forty, probing revealed twenty-five to be females and fifteen to be makes, with sixteen of the females later proven to be gravid. All were subadults or adults. A more detailed account is being prepared by Dennis Brown of Indianapolis, who supervised most of the collecting"--Abstract, leaf 1.
