The notebook is of the most interest because it starts out as what appears to be Benjamin's arithmetic notebook, but is later used for some budgetary accounts, poetry, and doodling.

|Biographical or Historical Data:|| Benjamin Standish was born 11 April 1840 in Washington County, Indiana. He married Malinda Collier in 1859. Standish was a farmer and lived in Washington County his entire life. He passed away in 1906.
