Biographical or Historical Data: | Wilfrid John Ullrich was born May 6, 1908 in Aurora, Indiana to William and Edna Irene Ullrich. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree of pharmaceutical chemisty in June 1929 and owned and operated the Ullrich Drugstore in Aurora. He married Eleanor Irene Klimek (1907-2001) on September 10, 1929 and they had six children. He was a civic leader and served many local and state organizations, including the Red Cross, Boy Scouts, and Dearborn County Mental Health Association. He also served as director of the First National Bank at Aurora, Aurora Industrial Development, and the Southeastern Indiana Economic Opportunity Corp. A Democrat, he was known as an authority in the fields of education, health care, and penal reform and served as a member of the Indiana Senate from 1963 until his death on June 8, 1977.Sources:Ancestry.com.
