This collection includes correspondence from various people in Indiana and elsewhere; school papers and textbooks of Lucille Lipps Gaynor; religious memorabilia; family papers, a metal Indiana license plate from the Sesquicentennial in 1966; and advertisements from various Indianapolis businesses ranging from 1884-1979 regarding family matters, school life and work, life during various wars, Indiana and Indianapolis business advertising, religious art and organization life.

Biographical or Historical Data:
Lucille Mary Lipps was born in Indianapolis on September 2, 1899 to William A. and Margarete Lipps. She had one brother, Andrew. Lucille worked as the assistant manager of a coal company in Indianapolis in 1920. She married Edward Orville Gaynor, with whom she had three children, Margaret Ann Gaynor Petty, Lucia Gaynor Karst, and Edward Andrew Gaynor, on September 8, 1920 in Indianapolis, Lucille was a designer for East End Post Greenhouse, president, secretary, and treasurer for Veterans of World War I Post 41 Auxiliary and a member of the Indianapolis Fireman's Auxiliary. She was a volunteer for the Cheer Guild at Riley Hospital for Children. Lucille died in Feb. of 1984 and was buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis on Feb. 10, 1984.The Indianapolis Star, Feb 10, 1984, Jul 12, 1981, Jun 21, 1961.
