Summary, etc.: This collection includes notes compiled and collected by Thelma Murphy about Indiana Civil War generals as well as regiments from Indiana. The first box has 59 folders for generals from A-M. The second box has 34 folders for generals from N-W, plus four additional folders. Three of the additional folders have notes on regiments. The last folder has miscellaneous information including photographs and newspaper clippings.

Biographical or Historical Data: Thelma Murphy, a member of the Indianapolis Civil War Round Table, collected this information on Civil War generals and regiments from Indiana. According to the "Hardtack", which is the newsletter for the Round Table, she was a member in December 1958 when she published the list for fellow members.
Ownership and Custodial History: This collection was received by Rare Books and Manuscripts as a donation from Thelma Murphy on 1984/01/13.
