Biographical or Historical Data: | Joanna M. Elston Lane was born on September 28, 1826 at Crawfordsville, Indiana to Major Isaac C. and Maria Elston. She married Henry S. Lane on February 11, 1845. Her husband was a U.S. Congressman, Indiana Governor, and served as U.S. Senator from Indiana during the Civil War. Mrs. Lane died on April 6, 1914. Sources: FindaGrave.com.
