This collection contains a color landscape drawing by Herman Davis (undated); a drawing of a small street scene by Gaar Williams the appeared in the Chicago Daily News (ca. 1908); a drawing of WWWI "doughboy" by Gaar Williams (1918); and a photograph of Gaar Williams (undated). The collection also includes twenty lessons created by Charles Kuhn for an Indianapolis News cartoon course (1934).

|Biographical or Historical Data:||
Charles Harris Kuhn was born March 20, 1892 at Prairie City, Illinois to James and Minnie Kuhn and spent his childhood in Bushnell, Illinois. He studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and published his first cartoon in 1915. He worked as a cartoonist for the Chicago Journal and the Rocky Mountain News (Denver, CO) before joining the Indianapolis News in 1922. He began drawing the comic strip, Grandma, in 1947 and it was distributed by King Features until 1969. Kuhn was a navy veteran of World War I and was married to his wife, Lois, from 1922 until his death at the age of 96 on January 16, 1989.Sources:Ancestry.com.
