|Biographical or Historical Data:||
Harold Brown Adkinson, an only child, was born to Hubert M. and Elizabeth B. Adkinson on Aug. 22, 1906 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He worked as a salesman until he became an Indianapolis Fire Department firefighter in 1934. Adkinson and his wife Jean had a son, Wm. H. He was fatally injured in a fire truck accident on Dec. 16, 1944, died Dec. 22, and is buried in Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis. Adkinson took great interest in collecting memorabilia and particularly photographs of the Indianapolis Fire Department and 19th century Mississippi and Ohio River steamboats.
