Summary, etc.: | A genealogical history of Brigadier-General Isaac Sandford and his descendants. Sandford was a farmer, a veteran of the Black Hawk War, a contractor with the Indianapolis & St. Louis Railroad, and a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He was born in Bridgehampton, New York in 1796 to Ezekiel and Hannah Halsey Sandford. Sandford married Belinda Foster, the daughter of Luke and Esther Hubbell Foster, in 1819. Sandford later moved to Cincinnatti, Ohio, and then settled in Vermillion, Illinois. |
