Summary, etc.: Ex-hippies Steven and Elyse are trying to raise their Young Republican son Alex, shallow daughter Mallory, and tomboy daughter Jennifer in Reagan-era America. In this season, Elyse tells Steven she is pregnant, and the family suffers through food cravings, Lamaze classes, and Elyse going into labor on television during Pledge Week. Plus, Alex starts college, Mallory gets a job she is actually good at, and Jennifer discovers boys.
